How to Disconnect a Broker Account

Overview

Safely disconnect a broker account from Tradelyser.

⚠️ Before Disconnecting

What Happens

  • Auto-sync stops immediately
  • Existing trades remain in Tradelyser
  • Connection credentials removed
  • Can reconnect anytime
  • No data is deleted

When to Disconnect

🔴 Switching to different broker
🔴 Account no longer active
🔴 Security concerns
🔴 Testing different brokers

Steps

1. Go to Accounts Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings > Accounts
  2. Find the account to disconnect

2. Open Account Menu

  1. Click three dots (⋮) next to the account
  2. Account menu opens

3. Select Disconnect

  1. Click "Disconnect Account" option
  2. Confirmation dialog appears

4. Confirm Disconnection

  1. Read the warning message
  2. Understand implications
  3. Click "Disconnect" button

5. Disconnection Complete

  • Success message appears
  • Status changes to "Disconnected" 🔴
  • Auto-sync stopped

Success!

Broker account is disconnected.

After Disconnection

What's Preserved

✅ All existing trades remain
✅ Historical data intact
✅ Analysis and reports available
✅ Journal entries unchanged
✅ Tags and notes preserved

What Stops

❌ Automatic trade sync
❌ Real-time position updates
❌ New trade imports
❌ Auto-sync schedules

Reconnecting Later

  1. Click "Connect" button on disconnected account
  2. Or add as new account
  3. Complete authorization again
  4. Trades won't duplicate

Alternative: Archive Instead

Archive: Hide account, keep connection Disconnect: Stop sync, remove connection

To Archive:

  1. Click three dots menu
  2. Select "Archive Account"
  3. Account hidden but still connected

Quick Tips

  • Disconnect doesn't delete your data
  • Can reconnect anytime
  • Trades remain for analysis
  • Use archive to temporarily hide

Managing Multiple Accounts

  • Disconnect unused broker accounts
  • Keep active accounts connected
  • Archive old accounts
  • Delete only if permanently closing
