How to Disconnect a Broker Account
Overview
Safely disconnect a broker account from Tradelyser.
⚠️ Before Disconnecting
What Happens
- Auto-sync stops immediately
- Existing trades remain in Tradelyser
- Connection credentials removed
- Can reconnect anytime
- No data is deleted
When to Disconnect
🔴 Switching to different broker
🔴 Account no longer active
🔴 Security concerns
🔴 Testing different brokers
Steps
1. Go to Accounts Settings
- Navigate to Settings > Accounts
- Find the account to disconnect

2. Open Account Menu
- Click three dots (⋮) next to the account
- Account menu opens

3. Select Disconnect
- Click "Disconnect Account" option
- Confirmation dialog appears

4. Confirm Disconnection
- Read the warning message
- Understand implications
- Click "Disconnect" button

5. Disconnection Complete
- Success message appears
- Status changes to "Disconnected" 🔴
- Auto-sync stopped

Broker account is disconnected.
After Disconnection
What's Preserved
✅ All existing trades remain
✅ Historical data intact
✅ Analysis and reports available
✅ Journal entries unchanged
✅ Tags and notes preserved
What Stops
❌ Automatic trade sync
❌ Real-time position updates
❌ New trade imports
❌ Auto-sync schedules
Reconnecting Later
- Click "Connect" button on disconnected account
- Or add as new account
- Complete authorization again
- Trades won't duplicate
Alternative: Archive Instead
Archive vs Disconnect
Archive: Hide account, keep connection Disconnect: Stop sync, remove connection
To Archive:
- Click three dots menu
- Select "Archive Account"
- Account hidden but still connected
