How to Sync Historical Trades (Old Trades)

Overview​

Import your past trading history from broker for complete analysis.

What are Historical Trades?​

Definition​

Steps​

1. Connect Broker First​

Ensure broker account is connected:

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts
  2. Verify status: "Connected" βœ…
  3. If not, connect broker first

2. Access Sync Historical​

Option A: From Accounts

  1. Click three dots on account
  2. Select "Sync Historical Trades" or "Import History"

Option B: From Trades Page

  1. Look for "Sync Old Trades" banner/button
  2. Click to start import

3. Select Date Range​

  1. Dialog opens
  2. Choose start date (how far back)
  3. Choose end date (usually today)
  4. Or select preset: Last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year

4. Start Import​

  1. Review date range
  2. Click "Start Import" or "Sync Historical"
  3. Process begins

5. Wait for Completion​

  • Progress bar shows status
  • Can take 2-10 minutes for large history
  • Don't close browser
  • Number of trades found displayed

6. Import Complete​

  • Success message
  • Total trades imported shown
  • View your complete history

Your historical trades are now imported.

Import Limits by Broker​

Zerodha​

  • Up to 3 months history
  • Per day: All trades
  • Segments: All supported

Fyers​

  • Up to 90 days history
  • Per day: All trades
  • Segments: All supported

Angel One​

  • Up to 1 year history
  • Per day: All trades
  • Full trade book

Others​

  • Varies by broker
  • Check broker API limitations
  • Some: 30 days to 1 year

  • Buys and sells matched automatically
  • Position aggregation by FIFO/LIFO

Important Notes​

First-Time Import​

⏰ Takes longer (complete history)
⏰ Be patient
⏰ Large datasets: 5-10 minutes

Subsequent Syncs​

⚑ Only new trades imported
⚑ Much faster
⚑ Automatic duplicate prevention

Duplicate Prevention​

βœ… Skips already imported
βœ… Only new trades added
βœ… Safe to run multiple times

After Import​

Verify Imported Data​

  1. Go to Trades page
  2. Filter by date range imported
  3. Spot-check few trades
  4. Verify P&L calculations

Organize Trades​

  1. Add tags to old trades
  2. Rate past trades
  3. Add notes/reviews
  4. Create strategies

Common Issues​

Partial History Only​

  • Broker API limitation
  • Import available range
  • Request older trades via CSV

Some Trades Missing​

  • Check broker transaction history
  • Verify trades were executed
  • Some orders may be cancelled/pending

Incorrect P&L​

  • Check calculation method
  • Verify fees included
  • May need manual correction
