How to View Broker Connection Status

Overview

Check the connection status and health of your broker accounts.

Steps

1. Navigate to Accounts

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts
  2. View all your configured accounts

2. Check Status Indicators

Each account shows:

  • Broker name and logo
  • Account name
  • Connection status (colored indicator)
  • Last sync time
  • Quick actions menu

Connection Status Types

🟢 Connected (Green)

  • Meaning: Active and syncing
  • Status: "Connected"
  • Action: None needed

🟡 Pending (Yellow)

  • Meaning: Authorization in progress
  • Status: "Pending Authorization"
  • Action: Complete OAuth flow

🔴 Disconnected (Red)

  • Meaning: Not connected
  • Status: "Disconnected"
  • Action: Click "Connect" to reconnect

🟠 Expired (Orange)

  • Meaning: Authorization expired
  • Status: "Connection Expired"
  • Action: Re-authorize

⚫ Error (Gray)

  • Meaning: Connection error
  • Status: "Connection Error"
  • Action: Check credentials, retry

Detailed Connection Info

View Details

  1. Click on any account card
  2. Expands to show full details:
    • Connection type (OAuth/API)
    • Last successful sync
    • Total trades synced
    • Auto-sync status
    • Error messages (if any)

Connection Health Score

Some accounts show health indicator:

  • Excellent: All syncs successful
  • Good: Minor issues, mostly working
  • Poor: Frequent failures
  • Critical: Not working

Last Sync Information

Sync Timestamp

  • Shows exact date and time
  • Relative time: "5 minutes ago"
  • Absolute time: "Oct 30, 2024 at 2:30 PM IST"

Sync Status

  • ✅ "Synced successfully"
  • ⏳ "Syncing now..."
  • ❌ "Last sync failed"
  • ⚠️ "Partial sync"

Connection Mode Display

Auto-Sync Accounts

  • Shows "Auto-Sync Enabled" badge
  • Green checkmark indicator
  • Displays sync schedule

Manual Import Accounts

  • Shows "Manual Import" badge
  • No auto-sync schedule
  • Shows last import time

Quick Actions from Status View

For Connected Accounts

  • Sync Now: Manual sync
  • View Trades: See imported trades
  • Edit: Update credentials
  • Disconnect: Stop connection

For Disconnected/Expired

  • Connect/Reconnect: Start authorization
  • Delete: Remove account
  • Edit: Change settings

Header Summary

At top of Accounts page:

  • Total accounts
  • Connected count
  • Issues count
  • Last sync status

Monitoring Connection Health

Best Practices

✅ Check status daily
✅ Re-authorize expired connections
✅ Investigate error states promptly
✅ Keep one account connected minimum
✅ Monitor sync timestamps

⚠️ Multiple failed syncs
⚠️ Status keeps expiring
⚠️ Trades not appearing
⚠️ Connection cycling

Quick Tips

  • Green = Good, Red = Action needed
  • Check before important analysis
  • Re-authorize proactively
  • Keep backup manual import method
  • Monitor email for connection alerts
