How to Import Trades via CSV File

Overview​

Import your trading history from broker CSV files quickly and easily.

Prerequisites​

  • CSV file from your broker
  • File should contain trade data
  • Supported format (most brokers work)

Steps​

1. Get CSV from Broker​

  1. Login to your broker portal
  2. Navigate to Trade History or Reports
  3. Export trades as CSV/Excel
  4. Save file to your computer

2. Navigate to Import​

Option A: From Accounts page

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts
  2. Click three dots on account
  3. Select "Import Trades"

Option B: From Trades page

  1. Go to Trades page
  2. Click "Import" button

3. Select Broker Format​

  1. Import dialog opens
  2. Select your broker from dropdown
  3. System loads broker-specific mapping

4. Upload CSV File​

  1. Click "Choose File" or drag-and-drop
  2. Select your CSV file
  3. File uploads and processes

5. Preview Trades​

  1. System parses CSV
  2. Shows preview of trades to import
  3. Review for accuracy

6. Import Trades​

  1. Click "Import Trades" button
  2. Progress bar shows import status
  3. Wait for completion

7. Import Complete​

  • Success message shows
  • Number of trades imported
  • View imported trades

Your trades are imported and ready for analysis.

CSV File Requirements​

Required Columns​

  • Symbol/Stock name
  • Entry date and time
  • Exit date and time
  • Entry price
  • Exit price
  • Quantity
  • Buy/Sell direction

Optional Columns​

  • Fees/Brokerage
  • Taxes
  • Order ID
  • Notes

Quick Tips​

  • Export complete date range from broker
  • Don't edit CSV before importing
  • Check preview before importing
  • Import recent trades first
  • Avoid duplicate imports

Handling Duplicates​

  • System automatically prevents duplicates
  • Matches on: Symbol + Date + Price + Quantity
  • Existing trades skipped
  • Only new trades imported

Import Limits​

  • File size: Up to 10MB
  • Trades per import: 10,000
  • Format: CSV, XLSX, XLS
