How do I connect my broker?​

For Auto-Sync:

  1. Accounts → Add Account
  2. Choose your broker
  3. Select "Auto-Sync"
  4. Enter broker credentials (API key, secret)
  5. Authorize on broker's page
  6. Trades sync automatically daily

For CSV Upload:

  1. Download trade history from broker
  2. Accounts → Add Account
  3. Choose "File Upload"
  4. Upload CSV file
  5. Verify and import

Is it safe to provide broker credentials?​

Yes. Your credentials are secure:

  • 🔒 Bank-level encryption (AES-256)
  • 🔒 Encrypted at rest in database
  • 🔒 Encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL)
  • 🔒 Read-only access (we can't place trades)
  • 🔒 No credential storage (tokenized authentication)
  • 🔒 Regular security audits

We NEVER:

  • ❌ Store passwords in plain text
  • ❌ Have access to place trades
  • ❌ Share credentials with third parties
  • ❌ Sell or misuse your data

Can I import historical trades?​

Yes! Import past trades to analyze historical performance.

Methods:

  1. Auto-Sync Backfill: Accounts → Backfill Historical Data (select date range)
  2. CSV Upload: Export historical data from broker, upload to TradeLyser
  3. Manual Entry: Add past trades one by one (tedious but possible)

Recommended: Import at least 3 months of data for meaningful insights.

What if my broker isn't supported?​

Options:

  1. CSV Import: Export trade history from broker as CSV/Excel, upload to TradeLyser
  2. Standard CSV Format: Use our standard template and map your data
  3. Request Support: Email support@tradelyser.com with broker name—we add popular brokers regularly
  4. Manual Entry: Add trades manually (works but time-consuming)

We're constantly adding broker support based on user requests.

How often do trades sync?​

Auto-Sync:

  • Daily sync at 4:00 PM IST (after market close)
  • Manual sync anytime: Accounts → Sync Now
  • Pro Plan: Priority sync (faster processing)

CSV Import:

  • On-demand whenever you upload
  • Instant processing (few seconds to 2 minutes)

Manual Entry:

  • Immediate (as you enter)

What is Elysia AI?​

Elysia is your AI trading assistant that understands your trading data and provides intelligent insights through natural conversation.

Ask questions like:

What are trading rules?​

Rules are guidelines you create to maintain discipline and consistency.

Types:

  1. Automated Rules (data-driven)

    • "Never risk more than 2% per trade"
    • "Maximum 3 positions in same stock"
    • "Only trade between 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM"

  2. Manual Rules (self-check)

    • "Wait 15 min after a loss"

What's the difference between tags and strategies?​

Tags = Quick labels for organization

  • Examples: "Breakout", "NIFTY", "Morning", "News-based"
  • Use for: Filtering, searching, quick categorization
  • Multiple tags per trade

Strategies = Documented trading approaches with rules

  • Examples: "NIFTY Breakout Scalp", "Bank NIFTY Iron Condor"
  • Use for: Performance tracking, comparison, optimization
  • One strategy per trade (usually)
  • Includes: Entry rules, exit rules, risk parameters

Think: Tags are adjectives, Strategies are complete systems.

Can I journal from my mobile phone?​

Yes! TradeLyser is mobile-responsive.

From mobile browser:

How do I bulk-tag multiple trades?​

Bulk Operations:

  1. Go to Trades page
  2. Select multiple trades (checkboxes)
  3. Click Bulk Actions button
  4. Choose action:
    • Bulk Tag
    • Bulk Rate
    • Bulk Review
    • Bulk Delete
  5. Apply changes

Time saver: Tag 50 trades in under 2 minutes vs 10+ minutes individually.

Basic Plan:

Is there a free plan?​

Not permanently, but:

  1. 3-Day Free Trial — Full access, no credit card
  2. After trial: Read-only access to existing data (can't import new trades)

Why no free plan?

  • Maintaining broker integrations is expensive
  • AI costs per query
  • Server & infrastructure costs

We keep prices low to make professional trading analytics accessible to every Indian trader.

What payment methods do you accept?​

All major Indian payment methods:

Can I cancel anytime?​

Yes! No contracts or commitments.

To cancel:

  1. Profile → Subscription
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Confirm
  4. Access continues until end of billing period
  5. No future charges

After cancellation:

  • Your data is retained (read-only access)
  • Reactivate anytime
  • No penalties

What happens if I exceed limits on Basic plan?​

If you exceed 1,000 trades/month:

  • Import is paused until next month
  • Can still journal existing trades
  • Can still use analytics
  • Options: Wait for reset or upgrade to Pro

If you exceed 50 AI prompts/month:

  • Elysia stops responding temporarily
  • Resets at start of next month
  • Options: Wait or upgrade to Pro

Tip: Monitor usage in Profile → Subscription

Data & Privacy​

Is my trading data secure?​

Yes. Multiple layers of security:

Encryption:

  • Data encrypted at rest (AES-256)
  • Data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3)
  • Broker credentials tokenized

Infrastructure:

  • Hosted on secure cloud (Supabase/AWS)
  • Regular security audits
  • DDoS protection
  • Automated backups

Access Control:

  • Row-level security (your data = only you see it)
  • Multi-tenant isolation
  • No admin access to trading data

Who can see my trading data?​

Only YOU.

  • ❌ We don't sell data to third parties
  • ❌ We don't share with advertisers
  • ❌ We don't use for training AI models
  • ❌ No one on our team can access without permission

Exception: You can share with mentors (if you enable mentor mode and invite them)

Can I export my data?​

Yes! You own your data.

Export options:

  1. Excel/CSV: Export trades, journal entries, reports
  2. PDF: Generate and download reports
  3. Full Data Export: Complete account data (Pro Plan API)

How:

  • Reports → Export button
  • Profile → Data Controls → Export All Data

Can I delete my account and data?​

Yes. Complete control over your data.

To delete:

  1. Profile → Data Controls
  2. Click "Delete Account"
  3. Confirm (irreversible)
  4. All data deleted within 30 days

What's deleted:

  • All trades and journal entries
  • All strategies and rules
  • All reports and analytics
  • Account information

Cannot be undone.

Technical & Troubleshooting​

What are the system requirements?​

Minimum Requirements:

  • Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (latest versions)
  • Internet: Stable connection (3G or better)
  • Device: Desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone
  • Screen: 1024x768 or higher (for best experience)

No installation required — fully web-based.

Does TradeLyser work on mobile?​

Yes! Mobile-responsive web app.

Access from:

  • Mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
  • Tablets (iPad, Android tablets)

Native apps (iOS/Android) coming soon.

Current mobile features:

My trades aren't showing up. Why?​

Common reasons:

  1. Auto-sync not enabled

    • Check: Accounts → Click account → Verify "Auto-Sync: Enabled"
    • Fix: Enable auto-sync or manually sync

  2. Date range filter

    • Check: Dashboard → Date filter (top right)
    • Fix: Expand date range to "All Time"

  3. Sync in progress

    • Check: Accounts → Look for "Syncing..." status
    • Fix: Wait for sync to complete (1-2 minutes)

  4. No authorization

    • Check: Did you complete OAuth authorization?
    • Fix: Reconnect broker and authorize

My P&L doesn't match my broker. Why?​

Common reasons:

  1. Different calculation method

    • TradeLyser: FIFO/LIFO/Weighted Avg (you chose)
    • Broker: May use different method
    • Fix: Try different calculation method

  2. Fees/taxes handled differently

    • Some brokers include, some don't
    • Check: Account settings → Include fees/taxes
    • Fix: Adjust settings to match broker

  3. Incomplete data

    • Missing some trades or orders
    • Fix: Import complete history

  4. Different time periods

    • Comparing different date ranges
    • Fix: Ensure same date range

Elysia AI isn't responding. Why?​

Common reasons:

  1. Exceeded monthly limit

    • Basic: 50 prompts/month
    • Pro: 300 prompts/month
    • Check: Profile → Subscription → Usage
    • Fix: Wait for reset or upgrade

  2. Server issue

    • Temporary AI service outage
    • Check: Status Page
    • Fix: Try again in a few minutes

  3. Invalid query

    • Query doesn't match supported intents
    • Fix: Try rephrasing or check examples
