How to Search and Filter Notes

Overview​

Quickly find specific notes using search and filters.

Steps​

  1. Go to Notebook
  2. Find search box at top
  3. Type keyword or phrase
  4. Results appear instantly

2. Filter by Category​

  1. Click category in sidebar
  2. Shows only notes in that category
  3. Combine with search for precision

3. Filter by Tags​

  1. Click tag filter dropdown
  2. Select one or multiple tags
  3. Notes with tags shown
  4. Clear filters to reset

  1. Click "Advanced Search" icon
  2. Set multiple criteria:
    • Date created/modified
    • Contains specific text
    • Has attachments
    • Color coded
    • Author (if shared)

Search Operators​

  • "exact phrase": Find exact match
  • word1 word2: Find both words
  • word1 OR word2: Find either
  • -word: Exclude word

By Date​

  • Today

  • Before/After date

By Status​

  • Recently created
  • Recently modified
  • Pinned notes
  • Archived notes

By Content Type​

  • Has images
  • Has attachments
  • Has links
  • Text only

Sort Options​

Sort Notes By​

  • Title (A-Z)
  • Date created (newest/oldest)
  • Date modified
  • Category
  • Manually (drag-drop)

Saved Searches​

Quick Access (Pro)​

  1. Create complex search
  2. Click "Save Search"
  3. Name it
  4. Access from sidebar
  5. One-click filtering

  2. Bulk actions:
    • Move to category
    • Add tags
    • Archive
    • Delete

Search Within Note​

Find in Note​

  1. Open note
  2. Press Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac)
  3. Search within note content
  4. Navigate between matches

Export Search Results​

Save Results​

  1. Perform search
  2. Click "Export Results"
  3. Choose format (PDF, CSV, Markdown)
  4. Download filtered notes
