How to View and Manage Trades on Mobile

The Trades section is where most mobile users spend their time: confirming sync, scanning P&L color codes, adding tags after a session, and dictating notes while setups are fresh. TradeLyser’s mobile trades view mirrors the desktop trades log with touch-friendly gestures, compact rows, and quick actions—so your journal stays current even when you are away from your desk.

This guide covers opening the trades list on mobile, reading columns, opening trade details, filtering and searching, bulk-friendly workflows on small screens, and fixing tap and display issues.

Open the trades log on mobile

  1. Launch TradeLyser (mobile access)—browser or home screen icon.
  2. Tap menu if the sidebar is hidden.
  3. Tap Trades or Trades Log.
  4. The list loads with your last-used date range and account filter—verify both in the header before assuming data is missing.

Summary bar

At the top you typically see:

  • Total P&L for filtered period
  • Win rate and trade count
  • Active filters (tap to edit)

If counts look wrong, compare with desktop and read Incorrect P&L or Missing Trades.

Understand the mobile trade row

Each row usually shows:

ElementMeaning
SymbolNSE/BSE ticker or instrument name
DateExit or entry date (per your sort)
P&LGreen profit, red loss, gray breakeven
TagsColored badges for strategy/setup
RatingStar display if rated

See more columns

  • Swipe left/right on the list to reveal quantity, entry/exit prices, ROI %, fees.
  • Landscape mode fits more columns without swiping.

Open trade details

  1. Tap a trade row (not the checkbox area if in selection mode).
  2. Detail panel or full page shows:
    • Entry and exit times and prices
    • Fees, charges, net P&L
    • Tags, star rating, notes
    • Linked journal or strategy references
  3. Swipe down or tap Back to return to the list.

From details you can:

  • Add or edit tags — same taxonomy as Add Tags
  • Rate 1–5 stars — Rate Trades
  • Notes — type or use voice-to-text where your keyboard supports it
  • Edit manual trades if your role allows

Filter and search on mobile

Date filter

  1. Tap date range chip or calendar icon.
  2. Choose presets (Today, This Week, MTD) or custom range.
  3. Summary and list refresh automatically.

Desktop reference: Filter by Date.

Symbol and tags

  1. Tap Filter icon.
  2. Select symbol, tag, win/loss, or account (switch accounts).
  3. Apply—export and bulk actions respect active filters.
  1. Tap Search magnifier.
  2. Type symbol, tag name, or note keyword.
  3. Clear search to restore full list.

See Search Trades and Filter by Symbol.

Quick actions and gestures

GestureAction
Tap rowOpen trade details
Long pressSometimes opens context menu (device dependent)
Swipe leftQuick actions: tag, rate, note (if enabled)
Swipe rightAdditional columns
Pull downRefresh list / trigger sync check

After broker OAuth on phone, pull to refresh helps surface newly synced trades—if still empty, troubleshoot Trades Not Syncing.

Tag and rate without opening full details

Power users on mobile:

  1. Enable quick actions via swipe (see above).
  2. Tap tag icon → pick existing tags or create new (custom tags).
  3. Tap stars for execution quality rating.

For many trades at once, switch to desktop Bulk Tag and Bulk Rate—mobile supports selection in some builds, but desktop is faster for 50+ rows.

Sort trades on mobile

  1. Tap column header (e.g., Date, P&L) if sort icons appear.
  2. Or open Sort menu from filter bar.
  3. Common sorts: exit date descending, largest loss first for review day.

Sort Trades on desktop uses the same underlying order preferences.

Export from mobile

  1. Apply filters you need.
  2. Tap Export (⋯ menu on some layouts).
  3. Choose CSV or Excel; file downloads to device Downloads.
  4. Open in Sheets or email to yourself for backup.

Large exports on cellular may be slow—prefer Wi‑Fi. Full guide: Export Filtered Data.

Mobile workflow examples

End-of-day review (5 minutes)

  1. Set filter Today.
  2. Sort by P&L—review largest loss first.
  3. Tag setup (e.g., breakout, fomo).
  4. Rate execution honestly.
  5. One voice note per mistake trade.

Morning sync check

  1. Open Trades → pull to refresh.
  2. Compare trade count to broker app.
  3. If short, Missing Trades checklist.

Weekend tagging

  1. Filter This Week.
  2. Swipe quick-tag winners with strategy name.
  3. Open Tag Performance on desktop for analysis.

Selection mode and limited bulk on mobile

Where supported:

  1. Tap Select or long-press to enter checkbox mode.
  2. Tap rows to select.
  3. Choose Bulk Actions for tag, rate, or export subset.

Heavy bulk delete or archive is safer on desktop with confirmation dialogs visible on a large screen—see Bulk Operations.

Accessibility and readability on small screens

  • Increase system font size if trade rows truncate—landscape helps more than extreme zoom.
  • High-contrast mode on OS can improve red/green P&L distinction for color-blind users—verify badge icons still readable.
  • VoiceOver / TalkBack: open detail view for full field labels when columns are hidden.

Post-market mobile ritual (15 minutes)

  1. Confirm broker sync (connection failed if not).
  2. Filter Today → scan P&L color blocks.
  3. Tag and rate largest loss and largest win.
  4. Voice note on one lesson.
  5. Check dashboard widget summary matches trade count.

This ritual keeps desktop time for deep reports and equity curve analysis.

Troubleshooting mobile trades

Cannot see all columns

  • Swipe horizontally on the table.
  • Rotate to landscape.
  • Zoom out one level in browser if accessibility text size is huge.

Tap does not open details

  • Tap center of row, not edge scroll area.
  • Try slightly longer press.
  • Update browser; restart home screen PWA.

Trades empty but dashboard shows P&L

  • Date filter too narrow—expand range.
  • Account dropdown set to empty broker—pick All Accounts.
  • Missing Trades.

Tags or ratings not saving

  • Check network; retry after sync completes.
  • Log out and in if session expired (Manage Sessions).

Export file empty

  • Filters excluded all rows—reset filters.
  • See CSV Import Errors if re-importing, not exporting.

Slow scroll with thousands of trades

  • Narrow date range.
  • Use desktop for full-history analytics and equity curve.

Frequently asked questions

Is the mobile trades list real-time?

It updates after sync and refresh; not a live tick-by-tick terminal.

Can I edit broker-imported trades on mobile?

Editable fields depend on trade source—manual trades more flexible than locked broker rows.

Do mobile tags appear on desktop?

Yes—instantly after save when online.

Can I delete a trade on mobile?

Usually via detail view Delete with confirmation—cannot undo.

Voice notes—where are they stored?

In trade Notes, searchable on desktop.

Why do swipe actions differ from my colleague’s phone?

Browser and OS versions affect gesture support; use detail view as fallback.

Can I use mobile while mentee views my account?

Mentees use separate logins; your mobile session is independent.

Does filtering mobile affect desktop?

Yes—shared saved filters in many setups; verify account scope.

Split-screen on tablet?

Works well—trades list + detail side by side in landscape on large tablets.

Haptic feedback on swipe actions?

Depends on device; not required for functionality.

Tagging and reviewing trades between sessions on mobile

Indian intraday traders often capture setup notes on mobile right after a exit, while memory is fresh, then finish rate trades and strategy tags on desktop that evening. On mobile, filter Today and your active broker account before scrolling—mixing switch accounts scope with a narrow date range is the fastest way to think trades are “missing.” For Bank Nifty or Nifty weekly expiries, star the disciplined entries in the detail view; save bulk bulk rate for Sunday review when you can compare a full week in one pass.

Voice-to-text in trade add notes helps log Hindi-English mix reminders (“held too long after 2:30”). Tags sync to tag performance once saved online. If you coach under Pro, mentees use their own mobile login—your journal rows are not editable from their device unless permissions allow. After a holiday-shortened week, pull Last 5 trading days instead of calendar week so Monday’s gap does not hide Thursday’s mistakes. When mobile feels slow beyond 500 rows, narrow the range and continue deep analytics on equity curve at your desk.
