How to Edit or Archive a Strategy

Overview​

Update strategy rules, pause trading, or archive outdated strategies.

Steps to Edit Strategy​

1. Open Strategy​

  1. Go to Strategy Board
  2. Click on strategy to edit

2. Enter Edit Mode​

  1. Click "Edit Strategy" button
  2. Strategy editor opens
  3. All fields editable

3. Make Changes​

Update any of:

  • Strategy name
  • Description
  • Entry rules
  • Exit rules
  • Risk management
  • Position sizing
  • Goals and targets
  • Checklist items

4. Save Changes​

  1. Click "Save Changes"
  2. Confirmation message
  3. Strategy updated

Success!​

Strategy is updated with new rules.

Steps to Archive Strategy​

1. Open Strategy Menu​

  1. Click three dots (⋮) on strategy card
  2. Or open strategy and click menu

2. Select Archive​

  1. Click "Archive Strategy"
  2. Confirmation dialog appears
  3. Optionally add reason

3. Confirm Archive​

  1. Click "Archive" button
  2. Strategy moved to archive
  3. No longer visible in active list

Success!​

Strategy is archived.

Change Status​

Active → Testing: Verify changes
Testing → Active: Proven changes
Active → Paused: Temporarily stop
Paused → Active: Resume trading
Any → Archived: Retire strategy

Pause vs Archive​

Pause Strategy​

✅ Temporarily stop trading
✅ Keep visible on board
✅ Can resume anytime
✅ Stats remain visible

Archive Strategy​

✅ Permanently retire
✅ Hidden from active view
✅ Can restore if needed
✅ Historical data preserved

When to Archive​

Archive If​

🗑️ No longer using
🗑️ Consistently losing
🗑️ Market changed fundamentally
🗑️ Found better strategy
🗑️ Too complex to execute
🗑️ Replaced by new version

Restore Archived Strategy​

Un-archive​

  1. Go to "Archived Strategies" view
  2. Find strategy
  3. Click "Restore"
  4. Back to active board

Delete Strategy​

Permanent Deletion​

⚠️ Warning: Cannot be undone

  1. Archive strategy first
  2. In archived view, click "Delete"
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. All data removed

Use only if:

  • Never plan to use again
  • Want to clean up
  • Made by mistake

Document Changes​

Add Change Notes​

When editing:

  • Note what changed
  • Why you changed it
  • Expected improvement
  • Test period planned
