How to Manually Enter a Trade
Overview
Add individual trades manually when auto-sync or CSV import isn't available.

Steps
1. Navigate to Manual Entry
- Go to Trades page
- Click "+ Add Trade" or "Manual Entry" button

2. Select Account
- Choose account for this trade
- If only one account, auto-selected

3. Enter Trade Details
Basic Information
- Symbol: Stock/instrument name
- Direction: BUY or SELL (LONG/SHORT)
- Quantity: Number of shares/lots

Entry Details
- Entry Date: Date of entry
- Entry Time: Time of entry (24-hour format)
- Entry Price: Purchase/Short price
Exit Details
- Exit Date: Date of exit
- Exit Time: Time of exit
- Exit Price: Sale/Cover price

Costs (Optional)
- Brokerage: Fees paid
- Taxes: Taxes paid
- Other Charges: Additional costs
Additional Info (Optional)
- Tags: Add tags (strategy, setup, etc.)
- Rating: Rate the trade (1-5 stars)
- Notes: Trade notes and observations

4. Save Trade
- Review all information
- Click "Save Trade" button
- Trade is added to your log

5. Success Confirmation
- Success message appears
- Trade visible in trades log
- P&L automatically calculated

Your manual trade is added.
Auto-Calculations
Automatic Calculations
✅ Gross P&L = (Exit - Entry) × Quantity × Direction
✅ Net P&L = Gross P&L - Fees - Taxes
✅ ROI % = (Net P&L / Investment) × 100
✅ Duration = Exit Time - Entry Time

Data Validation

Common Scenarios
Intraday Trade
- Same entry and exit date
- Both prices on same day
- Mark as "Intraday" type
Delivery Trade
- Different entry and exit dates
- Can span days/weeks
- Mark as "Delivery" type
Options Trade
- Include strike and expiry in symbol
- Example: "NIFTY24500CE"
- Add premiums in price
Futures Trade
- Include contract month
- Example: "NIFTY24OCTFUT"
- Mark quantity in lots
Quick Tips
- Enter trades right after execution
- Include all costs for accurate P&L
- Add tags immediately for organization
- Rate trades while fresh in memory
- Add detailed notes
Bulk Manual Entry
For multiple trades:
- Use "Add Another" button after saving
- Or use CSV import for bulk
- Manual entry best for < 10 trades
