View Notification History in TradeLyser

Your notification history in TradeLyser is the single place to see every in-app alert you have received—trade sync results, import summaries, AI analysis completion, system messages, and account updates. Instead of hunting through email or wondering whether an alert fired, the bell icon in the header gives you a chronological log with read/unread status, timestamps, and one-click navigation to the related page.

This guide explains how to open notification history, work through unread items efficiently, clear or archive noise, and connect history with browser notifications and category preferences so you stay informed without overload.

Why notification history matters for traders

Indian equity and derivatives traders often run TradeLyser alongside broker terminals, spreadsheets, and chat. Alerts confirm that end-of-day broker sync finished, that a large P&L day was logged, or that AI analytics is ready. When you miss a push notification, history is your backup.

Use caseWhat history shows
Sync verificationImport/sync success or failure with link to sync history
PerformanceMilestones, daily summary ready, drawdown warnings
SecurityLogin or session notices (pair with login alerts)
ProductFeature announcements and maintenance windows

History is in-app only for items delivered inside TradeLyser. Email copies appear in your inbox; browser pushes may not remain on screen after dismissal—history keeps the record.

Open notification history

Step 1: Locate the bell icon

  1. Sign in to TradeLyser on web (desktop or tablet layout).
  2. Look at the top header on any main page (Dashboard, Trades, Journal, etc.).
  3. Click the bell (notification) icon.

A badge or dot on the bell usually indicates unread count. On smaller viewports, the bell may sit inside a compact header; open the menu if the icon is collapsed.

Step 2: Review the notification panel

The panel lists notifications newest first. Each row typically includes:

  • Title — short summary (e.g. “Sync complete”)
  • Body preview — one or two lines of detail
  • Timestamp — relative (“5m ago”) or absolute time in your account timezone
  • Unread styling — bold text or highlight for items you have not opened

Scroll to load older items if your plan retains extended history.

Step 3: Open a notification for full detail

  1. Click any row in the list.
  2. The full message opens in the panel or a detail view.
  3. If the alert relates to a feature (trades, report, settings), use View or the linked action to jump there.
  4. Opening an item usually marks it as read automatically.

Step 4: Mark read, clear, or delete

Use panel actions to manage volume:

ActionEffect
Mark all as readClears unread badge; items stay in list
Clear allRemoves visible list (behavior may archive rather than delete server-side)
Delete individualRemoves one notification (three-dot menu or swipe on mobile web)

Clearing history does not undo the underlying event (trades remain imported; sync still ran). It only tidies your inbox.

Notification types you will see

Trading and performance

Sync and data

Analytics and AI

System and account

  • Maintenance windows, feature releases
  • Subscription or billing notices (view subscription)
  • Security-related messages when paired with login notifications

Mentee and sharing (Pro)

If you use mentee access, you may see invites accepted, access expiring, or permission changes—not full mentee trade data in the alert itself, but a pointer to Settings → Mentee Access.

Read vs unread workflow

A practical daily routine for active traders:

  1. Pre-market (optional) — Glance at unread; confirm no failed sync from prior evening.
  2. Post-market — Open sync/import notifications; click through to trades log if count looks wrong.
  3. Weekly — Mark all read; delete promotional items; adjust category preferences if one type dominates.

Unread items are useful as a todo queue (“something needs attention”). If the badge stays high because of low-priority alerts, switch those categories to digest or off rather than ignoring history entirely.

Filter and find specific alerts

Depending on your TradeLyser version, the panel may support:

  • Filter by type — Trading, Sync, System, Analytics
  • Search — keyword in title/body (helpful for “Dhan” or “sync failed”)
  • Date grouping — Today, Yesterday, Earlier

If filters are not visible, use browser find (Ctrl+F) inside the open panel or scroll by date. For email copies of the same events, check email notifications settings.

Mobile and multi-device behavior

On mobile access, the bell behaves similarly: tap to open history, tap a row for detail. Read state typically syncs across devices when you use the same account, so marking read on phone clears the badge on desktop.

Browser push alerts (enable browser notifications) do not replace history—they supplement it. After dismissing a desktop popup, confirm the event in history if you need the link again.

Connect history with preferences

History shows what was delivered. To control what arrives next:

  1. Open Settings → Notification Settings (notification preferences).
  2. Tune categories in notification preferences by category.
  3. Enable or disable browser notifications and email per channel.
  4. Set quiet hours if night alerts disturb you.

After changes, trigger a test browser notification if available, then confirm a matching row appears in history.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
Bell missingRefresh; widen window; check sidebar navigation
No new items but sync ranVerify category enabled; check email; review sync history
Badge stuckMark all read; log out and in; clear browser cache
Click does nothingAllow pop-ups for TradeLyser; try another browser
Too many alertsCategory digest mode; disable non-critical types

For account-specific issues, email support@tradelyser.com with your registered email, approximate time of the missing alert, and a screenshot of Settings → Notification Settings.

Archiving important alerts externally

For tax, audit, or coaching disputes, do not rely on the bell inbox alone:

  1. Screenshot sync-complete alerts with timestamp visible.
  2. Forward critical email notifications to a dedicated folder.
  3. Cross-reference sync history for authoritative import logs.

History is convenient; email and sync logs are durable.

Best practices

  • Review history once per session after sync, not every tick during market hours.
  • Clear or mark read weekly to keep unread meaningful.
  • Use notifications as pointers—do detailed review in daily journal and trading calendar.
  • Coaches with mentees should revoke access promptly via revoke mentee access when engagement ends; related alerts stop for new events.

Frequently asked questions

Where is notification history in TradeLyser?

Click the bell icon in the top header. The dropdown or side panel lists all in-app notifications with timestamps and read status.

Do read notifications disappear?

They usually remain in the list until you clear or delete them. Marking read only removes bold styling and the unread badge.

Does clearing history delete my trades or sync data?

No. Clearing notifications only affects the alert list. Your trades, journal, and reports are unchanged.

Why is my unread badge wrong?

Try Mark all as read, refresh the page, or sign out and back in. Stale badges sometimes occur after a long session.

Can I recover a notification I cleared?

Cleared items may not be restorable in-app. Check email or browser notification history for the same event, or re-run sync to generate a new sync-complete alert.

Are mentee actions shown in my notification history?

You may see invites, acceptances, and access changes. Mentee trade activity appears in their workflow; use view mentee activity for auditing.

How long are notifications stored?

Retention depends on your plan and product version. For audit needs, rely on sync history and broker records, not only the bell inbox.

Do notification history and browser push show the same events?

They should for categories where both in-app and browser are enabled. If push works but history is empty, contact support@tradelyser.com.

Can I turn off history but keep email alerts?

In-app delivery is tied to category toggles. Disable in-app for a category while leaving email on in notification preferences.

Is notification history available on the mobile app?

Yes, via the bell on supported mobile views. See mobile access for layout differences.
