Manage TradeLyser Notification Preferences by Category

Notification preferences by category help you reduce noise while keeping critical trading alerts. In TradeLyser, categories group related events—Trading, Sync, System, Analytics, and Announcements—so you can choose delivery per channel (in-app, email, browser, mobile) and frequency (instant, digest, or off) without toggling dozens of individual switches.

Use this guide after skimming configure notification preferences, then align channels with browser notifications and notification history.


Why categories beat one master switch

A single “notifications on” setting cannot match how traders work:

  • Sync failures need instant attention before the next session.
  • Marketing announcements can be weekly or off entirely.
  • AI summaries suit a daily digest after market close.
  • Large P&L may need browser push while email is too slow.

Category controls let you match urgency to channel and review everything later in the bell inbox.

Open notification settings by category

Step 1: Navigate to Notification Settings

  1. Sign in to TradeLyser.
  2. Open Settings from the sidebar (navigate sidebar).
  3. Select Notification Settings (may appear as Notifications).

You land on the main preferences screen documented in notification preferences.

Step 2: Select a category

Choose the category card or tab:

  • Trading — trades, P&L thresholds, daily summaries tied to activity
  • Sync — broker and CSV import/sync outcomes (sync broker trades)
  • System — connectivity, maintenance, account status
  • Analytics — AI and performance insights (generate AI analytics)
  • Announcements — product news and education

Step 3: Set channels per category

For the selected category, toggle each delivery method:

You can enable in-app only for noisy categories while keeping Sync on browser + email.

Step 4: Set frequency

Per category, choose:

  • Instant — fire as events occur (sync complete, failed login if enabled)
  • Daily digest — one bundled message (good for Analytics, low-priority Trading tips)
  • Weekly summary — announcements or performance rollups
  • Off — no delivery for that category (history may still show system-critical items in some cases)

Step 5: Save and test

  1. Click Save Preferences.
  2. Use Send Test on browser settings if you changed push channels.
  3. Trigger a harmless event (manual sync) and confirm the right channels fired.

Category reference in depth

Trading

Covers trade lifecycle and performance signals:

  • New trades visible in trades log
  • Large win/loss vs your threshold
  • Daily summary nudging journal completion

Recommendation: In-app always on; browser for large P&L only; email optional for end-of-day summary.

Sync

Covers data pipeline health:

Recommendation: Instant on in-app + browser; email when you are away from desk. Cross-check sync history.

System

Covers platform and account:

Recommendation: Daily digest at 4:00 PM IST or in-app only to avoid interrupting live trading.

Recommendation: Off for browser; weekly email if you want product news without session interrupts.


Quiet hours and do-not-disturb

Many traders enable quiet hours (e.g. 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM IST) on the same settings page:

  • Instant categories respect DND except critical system/security alerts when configured.
  • Digests queue and send at the next window.
  • Browser popups during sleep are a common complaint—use quiet hours before disabling Sync entirely.

Coordinating with mentors and mentees

If you grant mentee access (grant mentee access), access-invite alerts may appear under System or a dedicated sharing section. Mentees do not control your category matrix; you do. When coaching ends, revoke mentee access and trim sharing-related categories if no longer needed.


After changing categories

  1. Run a test sync and confirm only expected channels fire.
  2. Ask a colleague or second device to verify email delay (digests batch).
  3. Revisit complete daily checklist—checklist reminders may tie to notification settings on some builds.
  4. If alerts disappear entirely, see missing trades only after confirming Sync category is not Off.

Migrating from “everything on” to a balanced matrix

Week-one traders often enable all channels for all categories. A practical migration path:

Category settings for team and family shared PCs

If multiple people use one Windows login, browser notifications may show TradeLyser popups to whoever is at the PC. Prefer in-app only on shared machines and rely on email to your personal inbox, or use separate OS user accounts per trader.

Category matrix tuned to the Indian trading day

Most NSE traders want Sync instant on in-app and browser—failed sync broker trades during the 9:15–9:30 window should not wait for an evening digest. Set Trading browser alerts only if you use price or P&L thresholds; otherwise rely on in-app plus a post-market email so your phone is not buzzing during order entry. Analytics fits a daily digest after 4:00 PM IST when generate AI analytics or weekly report summaries land.

Keep Announcements email on but browser off unless you want product popups during live markets. System and security paths should stay enabled—do not confuse them with marketing toggles; pair System email with login alerts. If you journal on mobile access but configure categories on desktop, open notification history once on the phone to confirm pushes respect the same matrix. Mentors do not inherit your categories on mentee devices. During Diwali or exchange holidays, expect fewer Trading events; Sync may still run when you manually reconnect brokers after a long break.

Will turning off Announcements hide security emails?

Can Pro mentees change my notification categories?

No. Only your account settings apply to alerts you receive about your data.

I enabled browser for Trading but get no popups?

Complete browser permission and ensure a Trading event actually occurred (e.g. threshold breach).

Can I copy category settings from a template or another account?

Not between accounts—reconfigure manually. Save your matrix in personal notes for reuse.

Do subscription billing emails use these categories?
