How to Add Trades to Your Journal

Overview

Link your trades to daily journal entries for complete context and review.

Steps

1. Open Journal Entry

  1. Go to Daily Journal
  2. Open existing entry or create new one
  3. Find the "Trades" section

Option A: Auto-link today's trades

  1. Click "Link Today's Trades"
  2. All trades from the date added automatically

Option B: Select specific trades

  1. Click "Add Trades"
  2. Select trades from list
  3. Choose which ones to link

3. View Linked Trades

  • Trades appear in journal
  • Quick summary shown
  • P&L displayed
  • Click to view full details

4. Add Trade Notes

For each linked trade:

  1. Click "Add Note" next to trade
  2. Write specific observations
  3. Save notes within journal

Trade Display in Journal

Information Shown

  • Symbol and direction
  • Entry and exit times

  1. Click "X" or "Unlink" next to trade
  2. Trade removed from journal
  3. Trade still exists in Trades log
  4. Just removes the link

Multiple Days

For multi-day positions:

  • Link entry in first day's journal
  • Link exit in closing day's journal
  • Track the full journey

Trade Analysis in Journal

Per-Trade Review

Add notes for each trade:

  • Why did I take it?
  • How did I manage it?
  • What was the outcome?
  • What did I learn?

Over time, see:

  • Which setups work best
  • Common mistakes

Bulk Linking

Add Multiple Trades

  1. Select date range
  2. Click "Link All Trades"
  3. All trades from period linked
  4. Review and remove unwanted

Auto-Linking (Pro Feature)

Automatic Association

Enable in settings:

  • Trades auto-link to journal
  • Based on trade date
  • Can unlink manually
  • Saves time

Trade Performance in Journal

Daily Stats

Journal automatically shows:

  • Total trades for the day
  • Win rate
  • Best performing trade
  • Worst performing trade
  • Average P&L

Filtering Journal by Trades

Find Entries with Trades

  1. Filter journals by:
    • "Has trades"
    • "Profitable days"
    • "Loss days"
    • "Specific symbol"
