How to Sort Trades by P&L, Date, or Symbol

Overview​

Organize your trades list by different criteria.

Steps​

1. Go to Trades Page​

Navigate to Trades log

2. Click Column Header​

Click any column header to sort by that column:

  • Date: Sort by trade date
  • Symbol: Alphabetical order
  • P&L: By profit/loss amount
  • ROI%: By return percentage
  • Quantity: By share count

3. Toggle Sort Direction​

Click same header again to reverse:

  • ↑ Ascending: Low to high
  • ↓ Descending: High to low

Common Sort Orders​

By P&L (Descending)​

See biggest winners first

  • Best trades at top
  • Quick performance view

By Date (Descending)​

Recent trades first (default)

  • Latest activity on top
  • Chronological review

By Symbol (Ascending)​

Alphabetical grouping

  • Group same stocks
  • Easy symbol scanning

Sort + Filter​

Combine sorting with filters:

  1. Apply date/symbol filter
  2. Then sort results
  3. Get organized view

Quick Tips​

  • Default: Sorted by date (newest first)
  • Arrow indicates sort direction
  • Click again to reverse
  • Sort persists during session

Common mistakes​

  • Sorting by P&L before applying date filters and reviewing the wrong month’s outliers.
  • Assuming sort order persists after a full page reloadβ€”re-apply sort after navigation.
  • Sorting symbol A–Z when you meant to find largest loss first (use P&L column instead).
  • Bulk tagging a sorted view without confirming the filtered count matches intent.
